Campsite Review: Wyatts Covert Club Campsite 🚐
Location Details
Site Name: Wyatts Covert Club Campsite
Location: Denham, Buckinghamshire
Overview
⭐ Overall Rating: 10/10
Sometimes you stay somewhere that just gets everything right.
This was one of those places.
Honestly, if I could give it an 11/10, I would.
After two trips of learning, tweaking and figuring out campervan life, this weekend felt different.
We weren’t rushing.
We weren’t constantly unpacking things we’d never use.
We actually slowed down.
And Wyatts Covert was the perfect place to do exactly that.
First Impressions
I’m a firm believer that you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
It’s something that has always stuck with me, and this campsite absolutely nailed it.
The hosts were so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They took the time to chat to everyone waiting to check in, explained everything properly and genuinely made you feel like they wanted you there.
Then came my moment…
I’d somehow managed to book a non-awning pitch.
Completely my fault.
Entirely operator error.
Thankfully, they couldn’t have been more helpful.
They sorted everything out without making me feel like a complete idiot, and within a few minutes we were on our way to our pitch.
Customer service like that is worth its weight in gold.
Facilities
Honestly…
The cleanest facilities we’ve come across so far.
The showers were spotless.
The toilets were immaculate.
Everything felt fresh, modern and incredibly well looked after.
Even the onsite shop deserves a mention.
It was easily the best stocked campsite shop we’ve visited so far, with loads of essentials and plenty of those little bits you’d forgotten to pack.
The whole site is surrounded by beautiful woodland, so wherever you looked it felt peaceful, green and secluded.
It genuinely felt like escaping into the woods for the weekend.
And yes…
For those wondering…
Ben didn’t have a single complaint about the showers.
I know.
I nearly fell over too.
Pitch & Setup
Apart from me booking the wrong pitch…
Our setup finally felt like we’d cracked it.
For the first time we weren’t constantly wondering where things were or moving stuff around every five minutes.
Everything had a place.
Well…
Almost everything.
We only made a couple of little mistakes this time, which I’d say is massive progress compared to our first trip.
It’s amazing how quickly you learn what works and what doesn’t.
Location & Things To Do
After our previous London trip where we packed every day full of sightseeing, we made a conscious decision that this weekend would be different.
This weekend was about slowing down.
Reading books.
Drinking coffee.
Listening to birds.
Actually enjoying the campervan.
That said, if you’re heading to Wembley, I genuinely don’t think you could ask for a better location.
It couldn’t have been easier.
A quick 1.9-mile Uber to the station, around a 10-minute train journey to Wembley and then a short walk.
Simple.
Stress-free.
Exactly how travelling should be.
We didn’t explore the local area this time, but we’d absolutely love to bring the bikes next time and see more of what’s around.
Food & Coffee Nearby ☕
We’d been told that the nearby airfield café does an incredible breakfast, and it’s definitely on our list for next time.
This weekend though…
We did something we’ve been talking about since buying the campervan.
Nothing.
And I mean that in the best possible way.
I made my coffee.
Ben had a little snooze.
I sat outside reading my book.
The birds were singing.
The occasional plane drifted overhead.
It was wonderfully uneventful.
And honestly…
I think that’s exactly what campervan life is supposed to be.
What We Loved ❤️
Everything.
Honestly.
This wasn’t just about the campsite.
It was about how we felt.
For the first time we weren’t constantly thinking about what needed changing or what we’d forgotten.
We simply enjoyed being there.
I finished my book sat outside in the sunshine.
We listened to the birds.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet.
One of our favourite parts of the weekend was sitting outside watching the aircraft from the nearby airfield.
Helicopters.
Light aircraft.
And even a Hercules flying overhead.
Little moments like that are the ones I’ll remember.
What We’d Change 🛠️
Well…
Every trip needs at least one “Ben & Kate” moment.
This weekend did not disappoint.
Lesson number one…
Butter belongs in the fridge.
Apparently if you accidentally leave it in the storage box during one of the hottest weekends of the year, it transforms into a dairy-based swimming pool.
Everything.
Absolutely everything.
Covered in melted butter.
We couldn’t even be annoyed.
We just stood there laughing.
Then came Ben’s moment.
He decided to make his morning coffee using one of our little gas canisters.
What could possibly go wrong?
Quite a lot, as it turns out.
Instead of brewing coffee, he briefly took up flame throwing.
The result?
A rather impressive scorch mark on the side door of our awning.
Thankfully nobody was hurt.
The awning survived.
Ben’s pride may never recover.
Safe to say he’ll be doing a little more research on using those properly before the next trip.
We’ve also decided we’d really like a dedicated outdoor cooking station.
The Cadac works brilliantly, but having a proper work surface outside would make cooking so much easier.
Every trip adds another little improvement to the list.
Would We Stay Again?
Absolutely.
Without a second thought.
In fact, I think we’d enjoy it even more next time.
I’d love to bring the bikes, explore the local area a little more and finally try that breakfast at the airfield café everyone keeps talking about.
Final Thoughts
This weekend felt like a bit of a milestone.
Not because we bought anything new.
Not because we travelled somewhere spectacular.
But because, for the first time, we truly slowed down.
We weren’t trying to tick places off a list.
We weren’t rushing from one attraction to the next.
We simply enjoyed being outside.
Reading.
Drinking coffee.
Listening to birds.
Watching planes fly overhead.
Laughing at our latest campervan disasters.
It’s funny really.
When we bought the van, I thought the adventures would be about where we travelled.
I’m starting to realise they’re actually about how we spend our time together once we get there.
And if every weekend is going to be like this…
I think we’ve found our happy place. 🚐🤍
