Millie, our best friend, we miss you so,
Not a single day we don’t think of you though.
It still feels strange that you’re not here,
Our home feels quieter without you near.
No tapping of claws on the laminate floor,
No hopeful jumps up by the fridge anymore.
No loud little snores or bedtime sigh,
Just silent nights and a tearful sky.
No gentle cuddles, no biscuit smell,
No wagging tail we loved so well.
We miss your warmth, your love so true,
Our hearts feel emptier without you.
Walks in the park don’t feel the same,
We watch other companions and whisper your name.
But you’re free from pain, running above,
With endless schmackos and all of our love.
Sleep tight, sweet girl, wherever you are,
Forever our baby, our brightest star.
