My Review (No Spoilers, Just Shock)

Another new-to-me author and honestly? This is exactly why I need to stop sticking to my comfort reads because WOW. AJ Carter absolutely delivered.

I read this on my Kindle and completely lost all sense of time. This was a “just one more chapter” situation that very quickly turned into “oh look, I’m basically done.” I could not put it down.

Now, let’s talk about the title. His Double Life pretty much tells you the premise upfront a man with a double life. Cool. Got it. What I did not expect was how that double life would unfold. I went in thinking I had a rough idea of where this was heading… and I was very, very wrong.

The pacing is fast, the tension keeps ramping up, and every time you think the story is settling into a familiar groove, it takes a sharp turn instead. I love a thriller that plays with expectations, and this one absolutely did.

By the end, I was equal parts impressed and slightly stunned and already looking up what else this author has written. Safe to say, AJ Carter has earned a spot on my “will definitely read again” list.

Final verdict:
A gripping, binge-worthy psychological thriller that goes in directions you won’t see coming. Even if you think you know what you’re getting from the title trust me, you don’t. An easy, satisfying 5-star read.
