My Review (No Spoilers, Just WOW)
Okay. WOW. This was my first book by Shalini Boland and let me just say that she did not come to play.
I read this on my Kindle and instantly became that person who spends the whole day thinking, “I can’t wait to get into bed and read.” You know the vibe. Peak reading joy.
The story is told from two different perspectives, which I really enjoyed. It gives you just enough insight to think you understand what’s going on… while quietly setting you up to be completely blindsided. Because yes, I did not expect the twists in this book. At all. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the story casually proved me wrong.
The pacing is spot on, the tension keeps building, and it’s one of those thrillers where “just one more chapter” turns into half the book. Dangerous behavior. Zero regrets.
By the end, I was fully invested, slightly shocked, and already mentally adding more Shalini Boland books to my TBR. If this is the standard, I’m in.
Final verdict:
An addictive, twisty psychological thriller that completely pulled me in. If you like multiple perspectives, unpredictable turns, and books that make bedtime the highlight of your day, The Ex is a must-read. An easy 5 stars from me.
