My Review (No Spoilers, Just Chaos)

This book had me in an absolute chokehold.

I started reading The Surrogate Mother in the middle of the night while recovering from surgery, fully intending to read a little and then rest like a sensible human. Instead, I stayed awake and finished the entire book because I physically could not put it down. So yes, distraction achieved. Sleep? Not so much.

In true Freida McFadden style, this book is fast, twisty, and completely unhinged (said with love). Just when you think you know where it’s going, Freida taps you on the shoulder and says, “Wrong.” Then does it again. And again. WOW.

The pacing is relentless. The chapters practically beg you to keep going, and the twists are the kind that make you stop, stare at the page, and whisper, “Absolutely not.” But you keep reading anyway. Obviously.

I loved how nothing felt wasted every detail mattered, every reveal hit hard, and the tension never dropped. This is peak McFadden: sharp, addictive, and designed to ruin your sleep schedule.

Final verdict:
An easy, no-question 5 stars. If you want a thriller that grabs your attention, refuses to let go, and delivers twist after twist, The Surrogate Mother is it. Read it when you have nowhere to be… or when you need a very effective distraction from reality.
