My Review (No Spoilers, Promise)
Let me start by saying this: Dead Med had no business being this addictive. I picked it up thinking, “Okay, I’ll read a few chapters.” Next thing I knew, I was aggressively side-eyeing every character and ignoring real-life responsibilities. Classic Freida McFadden behavior.
This book is fast-paced, twisty, and has that delicious “something is definitely not right here” vibe from page one. The medical setting adds an extra layer of tension (because honestly, hospitals are already scary enough), and Freida knows exactly when to drop just enough information to make you feel smart… right before proving you absolutely are not.
The chapters are short, punchy, and basically dare you to stop reading. I loved how the suspense kept building without feeling confusing or overdone. And while I did guess some things, there were still moments where I audibly said, “Oh COME ON” (in the best way).
Why not 5 stars? I wanted just a teeny bit more in a couple areas, but honestly, that didn’t stop me from inhaling this book like it was my job.
Final verdict:
If you like thrillers that are bingeable, slightly unhinged, and perfect for a reading slump, Dead Med should absolutely be on your list. Especially if you’re a Kindle Unlimited reader who loves getting emotionally wrecked for free.
